In the next session Startup Grind Vienna hosts Frank Westermann. He co-founded „MySugr“ which is currently Europe’s leading diabetes application and recently announced a 4.8 M Round, one of the biggest rounds of the austrian start-up scene. Frank studied Business Administration in Germany and France and started his career as a Product Manager at Telekom Austria. His second career station was in Berlin, where he worked for the IPTV Start-Up iTV solutions. From 2008-2011 he worked for the media consultancy thebrainbehind in Munich. During traveling, which he did a lot, he had an innovative idea on how to deal with his illness of diabetes and how it can help others. There are 600.000 people in Austria alone who suffer from diabetes. If you live with this illness, you have to reorganise your whole life and your nutrition to make the best out of it. In 2011 Frank founded founded mySugr with his Co-founders Gerald Stangl, Fredrik Debong and Michael Forisch. MySugr helps you with that. It is a Diabetes Manager App which provides a simple , intuitive operation and helps diabetic patients to document their lives with the disease and thus easier to cope with everyday life.
He will tell us the story of his „grind“ to success and discuss about the life in a startup and how to deal coming to vienna and living in a dislocated relationship.
