Peter started out as a consultant at McKinsey, where he worked for several years and helped to develop large marketplaces and e-commerce companies in Europe. Prior to that, he studied business administration in Vienna, Hong Kong, Shanghai & San Francisco. He comes from Upper Austria and has been living in Vienna for almost 10 years.

Refurbed is a marketplace for refurbished electronics. These are phones, laptops and tablets that are completely renewed, look like new and function like new. Customers save up to 40%, get at least 12 months warranty and the products are super sustainable. The combination of lower price and sustainability makes it very attractive for many customers. The goal of the company is to bring one refurbished product into every household in Europe. The founders are Peter Windischhofer, Kilian Kaminski (Former Head of the Refurbished Products Program, and New Key Account Manager at Amazon Germany. Education: business studies in Hamburg, Shanghai and London) and Jürgen Riedl (Founder and technical director of several international start-ups. Prior to that he studied Software & Information Engineering at TU Wien).
In early 2020 refurbed closed a 16 million € Series A investment round.
