Healthcare is broken, and needs some loving.
So be awesome, and save some lives.
All in a normal weekend, right?
After our first successful Health Hackathon, which resulted in 7 great final projects of which some are still being continued, we are back in May 2015 at the Microsoft HQ!
70 health hackers from the field of computer science, medicine, healthcare, game design and patients will come together to top the last hackathon.

What is a hackathon?
A hackathon, as a concept, is simple. Starting on Friday, the participants come together to find groups to work in. Until Sunday evening they build prototypes, concepts and projects which they believe in. Partaking in the event, you are coached and helped by experts, you have access to resources and people whom you would never meet outside. It is a weekend of free thinking with focus on current issues and projects of passion. This we believe, is how change happens.
What can we achieve?
At the last event 66 health hackers pitched 17 ideas. Out of these 8, and 4 are now being realised with the support of Inits, Microsoft, Tieto Enator and many of the mentors met during the weekend! Among them were:
mySugr Buddy – Improving Diabetes therapy with the help of artificial intelligence and surveys in a game like manner.
Speech Therapy Games – To support children in their speech correction, this team developed a game that helps them with the pronunciation of words, syllables and the creation of noises.
Sigmund Frog – Children’s waiting rooms are boring and could be way more exciting! With the help of an XBOX and Kinect, children are educated in a game like manner how to brush their teeth.
