In the developing world, blockchain solutions are emerging to address complex challenges such as institutional weaknesses, corruption, distribution and use of aid, empowerment and financial inclusion.
This edition of the Development Hub Club hosted in collaboration with our partner, the Austrian Development Agency, will explore the potential of blockchain applications in the sphere of international development cooperation.
Our keynote speaker, Joseph Thompson, is the CEO and Co-Founder of AID:Tech, the world’s first company to ever deliver international financial aid using blockchain technology to Lebanese and Syrian refugees. Joseph founded his organization to increase transparency in how aid money is distributed during times of crisis, combating corruption and bringing social and financial inclusion to the world’s underserved populations. He is also one of only ten people chosen as a UN Sustainable Development Goals Pioneer for 2017.
