Martin Wesian is the Founder of the Social Enterprise Helioz and the inventor of WADI. WADI is an affordable solar water disinfection measurement device, especially developed for low income households.
Since 2003, Mr. Wesian has applied his wide range of start-up and management skills across a diverse range of sectors in management functions. He contributed to the growth of several start-ups. For example, Systems AG started with 7 employees and expanded its staff to 150 during Martin Wesian´s employment.
Prior to Helioz, Mr. Wesian was self-employed as Art- and Culture-Manager under the Brand Denkstube (www.denkstube.at). Denkstube was responsible for major art and cultural projects in Austria and Europe, like the visitors area of the Austrian Parliament, Vienna Mozart House, and parts of the Schönbrunn Zoo. Beside his managerial position, Mr. Wesian also worked for the German Red Cross, served for the United Nations (UN) Operations Branch in Cyprus, and is a trained Engineer for Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage.
At Helioz, he is in charge of R&D, product management, production, PR, investor relationship, and social impact measurement and implementation. Mr. Wesian holds a MSc in International Business Engineering from FH Technikum Vienna and a BA (hons) in Communications. He studied in Vienna, Beijing, and Shanghai.
