AustrianStartups Stammtisch #15

Event Details

It’s mid of the month again and we meet as usual at Sektor5 for another one of our traditional startup gatherings. This time its all about “Hardware Startups”:

Hardware is increasingly becoming a burgeoning startup sector as the cost and time to build new prototypes decreased substantially with the advent of new technologies like new manufacturing. During the past years the Internet of Things era came to life, with connected devices and hardware products popping up everywhere, from established players like Google and Apple, to newly founded startups like In our daily grind, we’re searching for technology to enable easier accessibility and simplicity.

Being able to lock up your home and adjust the temperature with the click of a button is as feasible today as it shortly will be to send a package via drone or have access to a democratized satellite network circling the earth . With additional access to crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo or Kickstarter, a plethora of possibilities open up.

We’re looking forward for you to join us in answering questions like “how to successfully start up in the hardware space?”, “what differences are there to software startups?” or “how to use methods like crowd funding for early stage customer development?”!

This time’s speaker:

– Erik Unger, Project Leader at Space Leap

– Peter Platzer, CEO at Spire

– Sven Hock, Marketing and Growth Manager at Indiegogo

– Nico Gonzales, Co-founder of Hardware Tribe
