ABOUT Walter Schneider

Walter Schneider is the head of Business Unit Mobility Innovation
and has been a scientific and strategic advisor for more than nine years at the Austrian Council for Research and Technology Development and the Austrian Council on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence before he takes responsibility as Head of Business Unit Mobility Innovation at AustriaTech in 2019. Together with his team he supports joint activities between science, business, society and politics in order to further develop the mobility system.

AustriaTech acts as a partner in the development and support of innovation strategies for the mobility system and thus strengthens the position of Austrian companies in the ITS sector with an international market orientation.

AustriaTech helps on implementation processes for new mobility services. The Mobility Innovations business unit supports joint activities between science, industry, society and politics in order to further develop the mobility system.

As a non-profit-organisation, AustriaTech has for more than ten years been following the goal of placing people at the centre of new mobility solutions and helping technological developments to be implemented. As a 100% subsidiary of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, AustriaTech accompanies innovation processes, advise on the implementation of national and European guidelines and promote exchange and joint learning between the stakeholders involved at national and international levels.
