Business Development Manager (f/m/x) @ AustrianStartups

In a Nutshell

AustrianStartups is in search of a Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of our organization. You will develop new business models, manage our existing partners and develop new collaborations which range from startups and small companies to global corporations. As part of the leadership team of AustrianStartups, you will work closely with our co-managing directors Hannah and Adrian and the leadership team of AustrianStartups to shape our strategy for the future and optimize our partnership structures. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating new business models, sales and communicating with different stakeholders. He/She combines a creative and curious mind with a structured and result-driven way of working.

Who we are

AustrianStartups is the leading non-profit platform and think tank for startups and innovative entrepreneurship in Austria. Together with our 30,000 supporters, we are working towards a brighter entrepreneurial future in Austria. Over the past 10 years, we have inspired more than 160,000 people across our channels, connected more than 15,000 event visitors, started Austria’s biggest entrepreneurship project for schools and published Austria’s largest startup study – the Austrian Startup Monitor. With your help, we aim to change Austria’s entrepreneurial culture sustainably and for the better!

What you will be doing

• Lead the AustrianStartups partnerships activities and advance our fundraising efforts
• Develop new business models together with our co-managing directors
• Optimize our sales playbook, partnership models and monetization strategy
• Acquire new partners & supporting members
  • Scout potential partners and represent our vision at various ecosystem events – be prepared to constantly meet new people
  • Build fundraising pitch decks and improve our sales materials
  • Translate your new connections into partnerships with AustrianStartups
• Maintain & develop relationships with current partners
  • Organize partner events
  • Elevate our existing partnerships
  • Be the first point of contact for our partners, making sure to create value
• Support and be involved in various projects and events of AustrianStartups to find out about different stakeholders’ needs and identify new partnership opportunities

What we are looking for

• Outgoing, curious and open-minded personality with passion for entrepreneurship & startups
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the role
• Willingness to take over responsibility quickly
• A solid understanding of Austria’s startup ecosystem
• Strong communication skills & a healthy level of confidence
• Structured way of working & hands-on attitude
• Fluency in English & German
• Long-term commitment

Hard facts

• Position: 20-40h/week
• Salary: Monthly gross salary of €1.200/month (part-time) ; starting from €2.400/month (full time)
• Working Location: The Startup House in the 2nd district & Impact Hub Vienna in the 7th district (home office possible)
• Starting Date: As soon as possible
